A gorgeous beach in El Nido

The journey to the Philippines has been one of the great and unexpected discoveries among my latest wild travels.

Philippines, Palawan, El Nido

Time was short and I only explored El Nido, loving the dramatic scenery, the colors of the sea, the clouds running in the sky, and thinking at going back some day…

Lovely photo! Here are some other overlooked Asian beaches, in Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand, in the April issue of National Geographic Traveler: http://traveler.nationalgeographic.com/2010/04/se-asia-beaches-photography

Oh Marilyn, thank you so much for stopping by and for your lovely and generous comment. I would never have expected it! I’m a great fan of National Geographic and being a nature lover and a culture passionate, I love seeing and reading how you contribute in trying to preserve the most precious (although too often forgotten) treasures nature and mankind expressed over million years. I’m nothing more than an amateur photographer, trying to capture a little piece of our planet’s beauties because I’m afraid most of them won’t last that long… I wish I were able to capture even the smallest portion of the emotions that National Geographic photographers make me feel. Thank you again!

Ahh, the Philippines, such a wonderful place to travel and so many people who pass it up for other destinations in SE Asia.

I guess it’s true that the Philippines are rarely included in a journey to SE Asia. I wonder if this is related to the fact it is scarcely promoted as a destination (at least in Italy). Also to me it was a discovery, and I did not expect the Philippines to be so gorgeous. Really worth a second trip!
      Cheers!
