Stunning Laguna Churup

The stunning Laguna Churup, with its deep blue water, is a 1-day hike from Huaraz, the Peruvian city that is mostly known for being the base for short or long treks in the Cordillera Blanca and the Cordillera Hauyhuash.

Surrounded by beautiful peaks within a wild scenery, Lake Churup is one of the best choices if you are looking for a short and not too strenuous (beware of the altitude though, reaching 4,450 m at the Laguna) hike with amazing views.

I love this part of Peru – I didn’t know much about Huaraz before I got there, but fell in love with the ‘outdoorsy’ atmosphere of the place.
