The magnificent Calci Charterhouse was one of the most unexpected surprises of my trip in an overlooked area of Tuscany, the one between Pisa and Lucca. Not only had I never heard about the Charterhouse before, I also wondered how such a wonderful place could be possibly mostly known only by the locals.
Inside the Calci Charterhouse, the frescoes are jaw-dropping and the journey through the rooms of what once was a Carthusian monastery is fascinating.

You’ll fall in love with the Charterhouse, Jeff. One of the most beautiful places I visited, and well worth to go a little off the beaten path.
How Stunning!! I will absolutely check this out on my next visit!
