The Cathedral of Orvieto, in Umbria, is considered one of the most beautiful masterpieces of Italian medieval architecture. In contrast with the richly decorated façade, the interior strikes for its sobriety, highlighting the perfect geometry of the space.
The interior of the Cathedral of Orvieto is also home to some of the most beautiful works of art of the late Middle Age and the Renaissance, above all the magnificent frescoes by Luca Signorelli.

We must have been by Orvieto at least a dozen times now. We really need to stop and visit someday soon.

Orvieto is really worth a visit, Jennifer, and a long one. Unfortunately, I saw it very quickly and for sure I’d love to go back.
