Aletsch Glacier From Belalp

Best of Switzerland: Hiking Along the Wonderful Aletsch Glacier

//  by Simon//  13 Comments

Time blurs memories and I can’t tell when my love affair with ice and glaciers began. I suspect it’s related to my passion for the immensity of the desert, perhaps because of Peter O’Toole and the memorable Lawrence of Arabia, a movie that caught the heart of every one of my generation. Walking along the …

It’s thus easy to understand that I couldn’t miss the hike from Grindelwald – in the stunning Jungfrau Region – to the pretty Bachalpsee.

Unforgettable Swiss National Day: Paragliding, Parade and Flags

//  by Simon//  8 Comments

Ever wondered how they celebrate Swiss National Day (August 1st) in Switzerland? In Interlaken, I went paragliding, looked at the cow and costumes parade and watched at the fireworks overlooking Thun and Brienz Lakes.
