Weissensee, A Charming Blue Lake in Carinthia

Weissensee, A Charming Blue Lake in Carinthia

There’s more than magnificent Vienna, charming Salzburg or cosy Innsbruck in Austria.

Austria, WeissenSee

Weissensee, a gem of Carinthia (Austria)

Carinthia (the Southernmost State), a land of mountains and lakes, offers landscapes of amazing beauty, relax and outdoor activities.

A little gem of this region is Weissensee (literally ‘white lake’, although its colors range from deep blue to green…). By good weather, it seems like a postcard… too awesome to be true… But indeed it is…

The official repute of the Lake (See in German) is Weissensee (Colourless Lake). It is indeed beautiful in the summer. I was in Austria camping finally period in the district Voralberg neighbour the Nation border. Really beautiful and neighbourly fill!

The official name of the Lake (See in German) is Weissensee (White Lake). It is indeed beautiful in the summer. I was in Austria camping last year in the district Voralberg near the Swiss border. Very beautiful and friendly people!

Oh, thank you for pointing out the misspelling in the lake’s name. I’ll correct it right now.
Glad you share my love for Austria. Cheers!

You’re totally right Simon, I still remember a beautiful time we had in Carinthia, when my doughter was a little child and we were used to swim in the very small lake next to the family hotel …with sharming green landscape all around.

This reminds me of the Rhine river. I love lakes, the outdoors, and the greenery! It’s why the outdoors of Europe are so beautiful and I love to visit. Ironically, in all my travels, I’ve never been to Austria!
