Discover the Best Things to do in Portovenere, Italy

//  by Simon//  5 Comments

Pink, yellow, light blue, red, orange. Portovenere, one of the most beautiful towns of the western Ligurian coast, appears from the boat with its colorful houses reflecting in the sea.

I haven’t set foot on the ground yet, and I feel already that many lovely corners are waiting for my eyes to meet and admire them. Only a couple of minutes and my sense of anticipation is fulfilled.

An Amazing Roadtrip Along The Wonderful Causeway Coastal Route

//  by Simon//  2 Comments

A road trip along the Causeway Coastal Route in Northern Ireland is a unique journey. Charming towns, emerald-green meadows, and the spell-binding Giant’s Causeway.  I’m a big fan of travel by public transportation, a great way to be more responsible and to get in touch with local communities. However, some places call for a road …

Stein am Rhein

Is Stein am Rhein One of the Most Beautiful Towns in Switzerland?

//  by Simon//  3 Comments

With little more than 3,000 inhabitants, Stein am Rhein may well be a small village but it is remarkable for the concentration of well preserved medieval buildings within such a compact area.

The jewel in the crown is the Rathausplatz – the square of the City Hall – whose entire perimeter is lined by old houses with magnificent painted façades. Every house has a different architectural structure, the subjects and colors of the murals vary, but the harmony is such that it is close to perfection.

Breathtaking Lakes in Switzerland to Add to Your Itinerary

//  by Simon//  Leave a Comment

It’s hard to imagine anything more charming than small alpine lakes, with their pristine water whose colors range from dark blue to emerald green or turquoise.

Whenever I go hiking in Switzerland, and I do all I can to make that happen as often as possible, I’m always on the look for some new mountain lake, and I don’t mind taking a longer route to discover another lovely spot.

Discover the Breathtaking Roussillon Ochre Trail, the stunning ‘Colorado of Provence’

//  by Simon//  6 Comments

Provence, in France, is famous for its rolling hills, purple lavender fields, and enchanting hilltop villages. You’ll get to walk in canyons streaked in yellow, orange, red, and brown, reminding of Colorado.  When I first saw pictures of the Ochre …
